Why visit us?

White deer

White deer are unique in the world and do not occur in the wild. In the Czech Republic, they are bred in three game reserves, but the Žleby Game Reserve is the only one open to the public with a tame herd.

In the public area of the game reserve, there is a herd of 10 pieces, which visitors can observe from a distance of 15 meters in feeding time.

In total, around 90 mainly white deer are bred in the game reserve. The breeding herd is located in a closed, non-public part of the game reserve. They cannot be disturbed by visitors because they are not tame and thus retain their natural daily routines.

The Czech Republic ranks first in the world in terms of the number of deer kept in captivity. The total Czech population numbers approximately 300.

Bird of prey show

If you visit us at the right time (see the program times above), you can see a unique flight demonstration of birds of prey and owls.

Our demonstrations differ from others in that we release several birds of prey and owls at the same time, and they then move around in the suitable environment of the forest game preserve, where they are literally at home. The birds of prey are used to one another, so they pass each other in very close proximity, including just above the visitors’ heads.

It is possible to see a saker falcon, buzzard, kite, several eagles, a vulture and a raven all in flight at the same moment. During the demonstration there are also owls native to the local countryside, from little owls to eagle owls, as well as kestrels and others.

The demonstration focuses on the life of birds of prey in the wild, their protection, and the work of our rescue station. It is suitable for adults and children, individuals, groups, and schools.

By visiting the Obora Zleby Mini ZOO, you are supporting our Wildlife Rescue Station.

A great place for a trip

The demonstration game reserve area is adapted for comfort, relaxation, fun and education. It is suitable for trips with children. It can also be visited by people with mobility impairments, families, tour groups, schools – simply anyone who wants to enjoy a trip to see animals.
